February Revolution
A series of riots and strikes in March 1917 forced Czar Nicholas II to abdicate, leading to the establishment of the Provisional Government in his place.

October Revolution
In November 1917, the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, occupied government buildings and other strategic locations in Petrograd, effectively disposing of the Provisional Government to establish the Soviet Union, the world’s first Marxist state, in December 1922.
